Why Do People Write?

Language was created long before the people knew how to write. Writing evolved through the years, and now, people write more conveniently through paper and pen. Why do people write? People write to record documents and publicize information.

Why do people write? If people can express themselves through the use of the mouth, why still make use of the paper and pen? Some people find it easier to express themselves through the written word. Not everyone can articulate effectively orally. Writing gives them the power to say anything and everything they want to say. 

Why do people write? When kids are asked of what they want to be when they grow up, most would probably answer that they want to be a doctor, a nurse, a lawyer or a teacher. Very few would say that they want to be a writer. But there are people who aspire to be writers for writing to them is not only a hobby; it is a necessity.

Why do people write? History is an important part of any nation’s evolution. To record the events happened, people write. Saving information is one vital use of writing. The recorded information will be passed from generation to generation and it will serve as both a reminder and a lesson for the future members of the society.

Why do people write? People write to communicate with other people. The snail mail and the love letter may be outdated but it will never be replaced by the e-mail. Think of how intimate and personal a handwritten letter is. You cannot send your feelings through the internet.

Whether people are writing for a writing class or for a living, writing is an essential part of one’s life. Words are powerful. So is the paper and pen.
